Process

From Antique Object to Contemporary Art

Most antique boxes are over 100 years old and stand out for their quality, shape and craftmanship.

Each object marks the beginning of a new creative process. First, it is carefully restored, sanded, and prepared.

From a hand-drawn sketch, a design emerges that aligns with what the object itself seems to convey. Esther does not work from one fixed style; each artwork requires its own approach.

The artworks have different sides, each carrying its own image or meaning, but together they form a cohesive whole. This results in unique art objects that invite viewing from all angles. The interior is finished with leather or acrylic paint.

Esther works with wood, pencil, acrylic paint, acrylic ink and leather.
